The architects behind the Agro Food Park 2030 plan has worked on the project for more than a year.
Agro Food Park strives to be a new, open cosmos of buildings and facilities with a unique character and atmosphere.
- It has been wonderful to work with all the passionate people on the project over the last year. The competencies and unique knowledge that already exist in Agro Food Park today – from experts in mould cultures to export of sugar refineries, Kasper Guldager Jensen, Director of GXN, says.
The idea behind the project has from the beginning been to create a synergy between the many companies that are already located at the existing Agro Food Park; the goal is to create a so-called eco system where everyone can strengthen each other’s competencies and products.
Concretely, companies and research institutions will be placed according to a dense and urban overall plan – surrounding a large, central exhibition area where new crop and agricultural technologies will be displayed.
- The best way to create innovation is when knowledge is concentrated in clusters and ideas are cross-pollinated. By merging food production and urban life, we try to create an eco-system where people, knowledge, and ideas meet, Kasper Guldager Jensen says, and continues: The vision is to create the framework for a ‘Silicon Valley’ for agriculture in Denmark.
