GXN and Cradle to Cradle Denmark have, in collaboration with C2C creators, published a building manual in order to aid the Danish Building industry create buildings with positive footprints. The manual was launched at DAC (the Danish Architecture Centre) on January 22nd 2013, where its relevance was emphasized by speaches given by ministers for Environment, Ida Auken and Climate- and Energy, Martin Lidegaard.
Cradle to Cradle® is well known internationally and has lately evoked interest among many actors in the Danish building industry. Yet, for many it has proven hard to work with this philosophical framework without guidelines and examples of solutions.
This manual describes how actors in the Danish building industry can work with Cradle to Cradle in practice and provides specific examples of method, strategies and tools related to the building phases.
Not aiming to be a certification checklists with standards and set numbers, the book is distinguished as an open platform for innovation and new business models, wherein the ambition is to bring the resources of the planet in circuit.
The book is the most comprehensive publication on Cradle to Cradle inspired buildings so far, and it is richly illustrated with explanatory drawings and photos. It is written In a corporation between Vugge til Vugge Denmark and 3XNs innovation unit GXN as well as the founders of Cradle to Cradle, William McDonough og Michael Braungart.
